Creative Dramatics Instructor Needed

Sol Children Theatre Troupe, one of South Florida's most respected and rapidly growing children's theatrical organization, is seeking an experienced, qualified instructor for their Outreach Program. Sol Children Theatre is partnering with various organizations, such as Children's Home Society, Kids in Distress and Smith Community Mental Health, to create an Outreach Program which will allow disenfranchised youth to experience and be involved in the creative theatrical arts.Applicant must have previous experience in dealing with special needs children and students of all ages. Applicant should also have experience in several of the following: psycho-drama, improvisation, music therapy, creative script writing, creative movement and script/character analysis.Applicant must also have a valid Florida driver's license and be willing to travel to the locations. Travel expenses will be included in salary. This is a part-time job with potential for growth. The Troupe hosts their hugely popular Improv Nite … set loosely by the hysterical Who’s Line is It Anyway. The talented troupe will once again bring their own version to the stage with an evening of improv games, music and audience participation. All proceeds will benefit the not-for-profit theatre. · CLOSED AUDITION: come with a prepared solo, ballad or upbeat … entire song, NOT 16 bars … no piano available, bring accompaniment CD with NO VOCALS on the track; solo must be memorized and obviously prepared

The Beat Generation of 1950s San Francisco was hip, revolutionary and out there … and we’re bringing it back for one crazy nite! Poets from that era, and today, are welcome to the mic in addition to an evening of interactive “beat poetry” a la the troupe’s high-spirited style! This isn’t high-brow poetry, but lyrics with a kick! Keep it clean, keep it fun and come out for an evening with some modern-day beatniks!
